MISSION STATEMENT

Recognizing that effective law enforcement is the cornerstone of a free and safe society, the Sheriff’s Foundation of Horry County, is committed to a vision of the future that ensures quality, integrity, accountability and increased public support for the law enforcement profession. To achieve this mission, the Sheriff’s Foundation of Horry County provides a continuum of educational opportunities, resources and networking to:

Foster public recognition, support and understanding of the role of law enforcement in general and, specifically, the role of the Horry County Sheriff's Office;
Encourage individuals to choose a career in the field of law enforcement by providing scholarships for high school seniors and/or active law enforcement seeking a career in law enforcement or related field;
Increase officer retention through recognition, education and professional development by providing scholarship opportunities;
To contribute to the growth of the Horry County Sheriff's Office and to the betterment of Horry County

A Message from the Sheriff

I am extremely proud of the many projects and partnerships of the Horry County Sheriff's Office. It is my belief that we are only as strong as the support we develop today and that our future is only as bright as the light we give now for others to follow tomorrow. That is why I am most proud of the Horry County Sheriff's Foundation scholarship program.

This non-profit foundation seeks to reward individuals with an interest in a law enforcement or legal-related career and have a passion to serve others through their education and experience. We seek to give them the financial assistance they need to get started and the confidence that their efforts and intentions are recognized and worthwhile.

I have been impressed by the character and courage of our past recipients and I am looking forward to meeting the ones to follow. These folks motivate and inspire me, and give me great excitement about the future of law enforcement.

A Message from the Foundation President

The Sheriff's Foundation of Horry County represents the Sheriff's Office vision of promoting professionalism through community partnerships, by providing services to the community in the form of scholarships to high school seniors seeking careers in the legal related field and promoting the educational development of current law enforcement officers in the form of scholarships to advance their pursuits of obtaining a college degree.

The Foundation is fortunate to have community support through donations that allow us to hold an annual charity golf tournament that provides a continuum of educational opportunities and resources to the communities we serve. The Foundation board of directors and staff of the Horry County Sheriff's Office thank everyone for their continued support of this very valuable program.
